Bill, any original you find will be at least 89 years old. Even if it looks good, chances are that decades of vibration have separated the fins from the tubes and ruined the cooling efficiency. You may be money ahead to bite the bullet and get a new Berg's instead of a series of oldies that don't do the job. On the other hand, if you get lucky and find NOS it may be OK.

Thanks Steve that may be the answer to my what ever. When I put the Depot hack together I was luck and got one out of Ohio and it musht have NOS as looked like new and cools like Ice box, wont over heat even runnig for 20 minutes at idle speed.

Thank again. Will wait to hear about the roof (grin)

Wow, there's a name from the past. Author of the phrase limp-brained clown. I remember reading him in the Territorial Enterprise. :)

As a YOOT, I remember reading some of his accounts of civil war battlefields, railroading and the Lincoln asassination. As a beginner photographer I was really interested in his large crisp tin plates (?). The clarity was outstanding... kinda like some of the "posed" pics here ! LOL
So now onto the radiator debaucle... When I got mine it was a pretty beat up after market job (OOOOLD) with a corrugated looking fin arraingement. It took several hours of needle nosing to make it look good again. So I eventually filled it up for a run and the center would leak down to the hole in about 10 minutes of static (cool) pressure. Hot was worse.
So as in the old days, I put a handful of black pepper in it which helped about 10%... it would make it around the block. The next fix was a raw egg which gave me 75% holding power, and the addition of another egg has now given it total CONTINENCE! I make several 8 mile runs and not sparing the throttle, she gives me 175F on the motometer and no water pump either. BTW... thats on a fresh motor (pistons etc) trans and rear end. She flies with an unknown top speed but at 40 mph theres still room left for more! ws
