GM Distributor for 49-53 Flathead

Who make the GM distributors (points) for a 49-53 Ford. I think Bubba does, is there another manufacturer (not that I have anything against Bubba)

With two Holley 94s, and a more progressive cam, the vacuum signal is less than my original Vacuum-only Ford distributor could function with.

So, I got my '60s era V-8 GM point distributor, converted for my '49 Ford engine, from Steve Newsome in Milton, Florida.

It has the vacuum advance deleted, but works perfectly with the new re-calibrated-for-a-flathead centrifugal weights. My engine never started and ran better than now. It cost me $235.

Bubba isn't taking orders until Aug. 1st. That said he did the Chevy dizzie for the 8ba in my '39 and it works great. I don't know anything about Charlie NY's Chevy conversions but he did the carb for the same engine and it works great. Based on that and the other postings I wouldn't hesitate to have Charlie do a dizzie especially since it will be a while before you could get one from Bubba. Just my 2 cents worth.

I think running with out the vacuum advance defeats purpose of the distributor. A properly set up distributor will not only give you more power
but great mileage as well.
