Glove Box spring hook up, How is it setup .

How does the spring attach to the glove box door so that the door stays closed,? the spring I have goes across the hinge with a small hole in both the ends and attaches to the base of the dash with small holes as well ,does anyone have a picture or tell me how this is set-up , thanks Barners.. This is on a 34 Ford 4 door car , thanks ..

Dear Al, I have the same question. Did you find the answer about how to install the glove box door spring in your 1934 ford?

Just avoid the problem by installing a radio.

I really don't know how this spring works, I just put it in and the loop goes under the glove box liner and the ends go in the holes as a hinge for the door ????

It seems it work like a simple Hinge not like a spring. I cannot believe that Ford engineers used this type of part as a hinge instead of a spring. Does anybody could help us?

There is no spring like you describe on a 34 Ford glove box. The door stays closed by the latch at the top of the door. The spring loaded button on the top of the door is captured by the latch. I have no idea what kind of spring you have.

Oh, I see what you are referring to- this is not a spring to keep the door closed. It is not a spring at all, it is part of the hinge. It goes under the glove box and the loop extends under the box toward the firewall.
