"Glassic / replicars" 1931 Ford Model A - 1966-1981

reviving this thread, as I just bought a Glassic today.

agree with all of the comments and glad I was able to get those "facts" out of the poster.

The way I see it, I have an extremely rare car! LOL

Ronn, how does AACA view these cars, -especially at their car shows when the cars are lined-up by classes? Do they recognize them as a 25+ year old vehicle that was a mass-produced vehicle, -or are they viewed as similar to a kit car or VW dune buggy??

Rare is an interesting word however I do feel there is likely a strong cult-like following with these vehicles amongst collectors. Does yours have the little IHC 4 cylinder or the V8?

ok, to be clear, my son in law was going to pick it up in LI today and the guy got called in to work. so I didnt get it yet.......

I dont think the AACA looks favorably on these Brent. truth be told- Im more of a purist myself and do find them to be a bit early 70s, but I guess that is cool in itself.
It is sitting on an A chassis and all apart. So I of course have most of the missing A parts, and why I bought it. Ild much prefer a real 180, but for what I paid, Im laughing all the way to the bank. I will post photos as soon as it gets here.

stay tuned.........
ps Brent I agree with you on rarity. It is rare, but not necessarily of any value. lol

oh, and its painted deep purple!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i hope you enjoy it.
i was seriously looking at the Shay until i learned that it's so easy to find parts/clubs/tutorials/originals that i just went with the original.

original is the way to go!

exceptions of course.............. but easier to get parts for original.
