glass removal

I am stripping my '51 coupe for a new paint job, my question is how can I take the W/S & back lite out & save the gaskets and is there a trick to getting them out ,Also when I replace them do I install the chrome mldgs in w/s b 4 installing them ??
Thanx,Fred

Remove all the windshield trim (inside and out- wipers, center bar). Push out at an inside top corner and continue around the top.

Push out at a top corner of the back glass and continue around the top. If enough pressure cannot be applied by hand: put additional pressure with your feet.

The chromes stay in the rubber when removing, push out from the inside working the rubber off the body with a hook tool as u push if stuck on adhesive wd 40 does soften the glue when installing the chromes go in the rubber first then the pull string Rick

You may save the old ones getting the window out...but you will pay Hell trying to get that rear glass in using the old dry rubber and take a chance on breaking that curved rear glass. I know the new rubber is pricey, but it is well worth it to have window that doesn't leak and isn't broken. I usually don't save the rubber unless it's just a year or two old. just my opinion.
