Glass Bedding Help Please

I would like to know what side of the bedding material is suppose to go against the glass ?
Does it matter. I thought the side that has the cross hatches would go toward the glass as it had a film that had to be removed before use to keep it clean to stick better... maybe ?.
Also should I put the bedding in the frame first then install the glass or around the glass and slide the frame over it???

Thank you for the help....

Not sure, I just use urethane from a tube in the channel , it stick like ..... to a blanket. Just put the channel on the winder arms and the drop the window down the felt runners into the urethane.

my4dv8..
I forgot to add that the glass is for the doors on my 47' COE and it is the same as a 1/2 ton truck .
It has the metal frame all the way around the glass.
I dont want to use the urethane ... had a bad enough time getting the glass out with just old bedding in there , if I ever have to it again that would be a bear....
Thanks Ron in Az

Put the bedding on the glass and then insert into the metal window channel. Use a razor blade to trim the excess bedding. The bedding that I have used in the past has been the same on both sides. Use liquid dish soap on the bedding to ease the frame around the glass. Didn't the pickup have bare glass edge? The big trucks had metal edge around the glass on the doors.

Ron, you might want to take your glass & frames to a glass shop that can still do old cars, they use a tool that pulls the glass into the frames. also the glass setting tape comes in different thickness and you need to cut a vee where it goes around corners, some like to use wd40 as a lube for the moleskin (tape) talk to a glass shop, you will be glad you did.
just trying to help....jdl
