[Dirtruck]

Has anyone ever heard of a glass battery box,A fellow at a swap meet showed me this so called glass battery box and I happened to have a Model A battery carrier and the so called glass battery box fit right down into the stock battery carrier like it was made for it,so I had to own it.I would like to know a little more about this if anyone knows anything. Thanks

There were glass housed batteries at one time, but not for vehicles. The only place I know they were used was some early communication equipment.I'm sure there were other uses, but that's the only one I've seen pictures of in use.

If you are talking about the single cell battery with a glass case they were also used
in the early electric cars and trucks.

I'm told that early homes used them as well, long before many rural areas were electrified. I've seen a number of Delco glass battery cases on eBay over the years, so I don't think they're quite as rare as one would think. Still a really cool piece!
