Getting Started on a 32 Tudor

Looking close at the pics, the fender looks pretty good, but the lower wheelwell has been patched with what looks like a fibreglass cloth, bonded between inner wheelwell and the chassis. The body should be clearly separate from the frame, like it is in the area above the shock absorber.
The patch is probably best removed and the wheelwell repaired properly.

Pickin through the smugmug pictures, the rear spring bush is badly worn - you probably already know that though. Actually it's amazing how much of a battering these old cars received. I think I can also see where the rear bump stop has been hammered by the axle, distorting the underside of the frame. Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticising, just mentioning it because I know where to look, my 32 sedan was ten times worse.

Mart.

Mart, with the tank off my Dad picked up on the spring bushings, bad on both sides. I guess I will rebuild all that when I get the shocks rebuilt. I hate to take those rivets out, but all the bushings are shot.

Jim,

The two shock absorbers on the left side of your photo (where there are three together) may not be re-buildable given the evident wear on the shaft at the outer cover. You might want to keep an eye out for replacements.

Working with Bill on the shocks. I had the same thought. He cleaned out Dick so I am hoping he has some rebuildables.
