Getting rid of sealed beam conversion

I want to convert my 31 68C slant window Cabriolet back to the original headlight configuration. What would have been on it originally? Single bulb? 2 bulb?

If it was a deluxe with cowl lights it would have one bulb and if it was a standard without cowl lights it would have two bulbs.

REVISION: corrected typo, changed to say "...without cowl lights it would have two bulbs."

So what's the difference if they both have "one bulb"? Please explain, I'm new to A's and trying to absorb info.

SORRY, it was a typo. it should have read "...without cowl lights it would have two bulbs." Of course the main headlight bulb used in either configuration will have two filaments, one for high and one for low beam.

Get the aluminum coated (UVIRA) reflectors for brighter and lasting coating. I got mine from Bratton's

I will be doing the same thing you are doing on my '31 RDPU. So far the best I can determine is you should either buy the new reflectors that Bratton's sells, (301) 829-9880, or have original ones replayed by UVIRA, (541) 474-5050. The best sockets for the bulbs are probably the ones from A&L, (860) 693-2620. If anyone has comments or suggestions on these recommendations I would appreciate them.

Factory installed cowl lights had single bulb reflectors. Dealer or owner installed or never had cowl lights would have two bulb reflectors

Ordered the brattons reflectors and all the necessary bits today. Will be glad to have it looking like it should!
