I wonder what shipping a car from San Fransisco to NZ costs? We used to send a small package of Christmas presents to Australia and it was expensive, but not as much as you might think (that was by air, though.)
 
I imported this in 2018 to New Zealand. Shipped it from Schenectady, New York. I think is was 10G's (south pacific pesos) to ship... can't remember.

It went the long way through panama.

Where in NZ are you... I'm in Tauranga

Thanks fiddy6. Yeah, that's a lot of money...I think it translates to about $7000 American, but considering that's a long way to ship a big car, maybe not so bad. With something as nice as your car it's worth it, but I'm guessing it would pretty much nix the idea of New Zealand folks buying project vehicles from the US. Or maybe from California wouldn't be so pricey...
 
Thanks 51504bat, 5851a, JimNNN, and fiddy6, the car is still waiting for a ship to load onto. The shipping to NZ all up with fumigation and port clearance charges is US $2950.
The internal shipping to get it from Washington to San Fransisco is US $950. Neither of these charges have been paid yet, it is payment apon delivery. I consider that a bonus as the US dollar has risen by 10 cents since I made the arrangments so it is costing me less in NZ dollars when it arrives. There is another cost when it gets here, our government will charge me 15% GST on EVERY cost that it has taken to purchase the car and get it here in NZ. Not cheap to import a car but worth while to get a car that I really want that is not common or available in NZ
