Sitting in the drivers seat ...which way should the generator rotate when it is motored

Same direction as the engine.

Wouldn't that depend if you were looking at the top of the generator pulley
or the bottom.

Look at the front of the generator pulley side. It should turn clockwise.

Clockwise toward the passenger side, or clockwise looking at generator from the front of car.
