Generator brush question

Greetings:

Ok so on my 30 Coupe model A the Amp meter reads about 8 AMPS when idling and about 12 when revved slightly.

I have been told there is a 3rd brush that can be adjusted so that the AMPS come down a bit so it does not fry the battery.

Can someone please post a step by step or tutorial on how to adjust this?

For the life of me I can't find it but there was an article somewhere that had a step by step procedure for making the third brush adjustable from inside the car on the dash.
