Gene Winfield is gone.

R.I.P. Gene,

I can remember the 1st time I saw his name was an article in Hot Rod or Car Craft Circa 1976-77 I was subscribed to both even though I had to wait another year to get my license. Fast forward to 2015 when I transported the Stewart-Warner display truck to SEMA & part of my fee was a pass for the week. I finally got to meet Gene & spend some time with him away from the chaos. I never name drop to make myself look more than I am (like some others), but that was a really big deal for me & something I will ALWAYS remember!

God Bless
Bill

Met him at the Autorama in Detroit a few years ago. Just about the nicest guy you would ever want to meet.

Apparently, a lot of his tools were 'disposed of' w/o his knowledge/blessing. There is a thread on the HAMB about them and trying to get them back so a museum can be built.
