I just changed the transmission fluid in my ‘47 3 spd. Along with the 90 weight out came something that looked like a shot or two of grease. Any ideas as to what that was (the transmission has been functioning fine for the 6 months that I’ve owned the vehicle).
Thanks Glenn. I suppose that’s a possibility. It’s been converted to an open driveshaft (I’m guessing sometime in the ‘90’s) but it could have been sloshing around in there for all that time.
If the 47 three speed is in the pickup pictured as your avatar, they were open drive from the factory. I don't have a good answer for the grease, but wouldn't worry about it if everything is working well.
