Gas tank welt

Does it go up to and against the cowl band, or slightly under it, or further than that all the way to the cowl?
Thanks

If anyone has a picture, I could use it too, also, how close is the hood to the Cowl Band when the Hood is closed? Is any of the Welt visible between the hood and the Band?

Found these,

the bead on the gas tank welting ends under the cowl band, cut the bead off under the cowl band and run the salvage material out the rest of the way just past the screw.

I'm restoring a 1928 phaeton and I don't know where the welt runs around the gas tank and the cowl. Could you help me ?
Thanks.

These aren't very good pictures but should help. My car (9-27-28 Phaeton) has never been apart, but in the 50's someone painted black over the original Gun Metal Blue. The bead runs all along the back side of the tank to cowl and appears to be tucked in at the rear lower corner of the tank. Between the bottom of the tank and top edge of the cowl is a thin material that looks something like thick friction tape.

Also note the original welt on the front of the tank for the hood. The wire runs through the center of it then through the hole, up the outside, through the hole again, and down about 3/8", then clip it off. Notice the empty holes on the front cowl edge because that welt is missing.
