Hi Guys

Just pulled this out of the gastank on my early 1933 -

Question is if it is a original/working Hydrostatic unit ??

I don't like the two cut/bend tubes but maybe its Ok ?

Can anybody help?

If you clean that up you will see a small hole in the bottom of those tubes that act as vents. It looks like it is all there. You have to inspect the part inside the tank for cracks which can be soldered up. If you glass bead it lightly after using something like Brakeclean, it will clean up nicely.

The one tube should be open and seems to be bent up a bit. You should be able to work a pointed tool into the opening and get it open again. The tube with the small hole is crimped off at the end from the factory. Look for any cracks in ANY of the solder joints and resolder if any. make sure ALL of the tubes are open as well as any of the small holes. Below you can see the two tubes are soldered together to strengthen both.

These are the only photos I have of my 33 fuel sending unit after I finished cleaning every hole and mounting it. It is an original one. It seems that yours is the same. Hope it helps, Manuel
