gas tank problems

I bought an old farmall tractor with enough crud in the tank to build a battleship. I took the tank off, pressure washed the crap out of it, then installed a tank screen filter. It only keeps the last 1/2 inch of fuel unavailable, which I can live with. Its been in since 2016, no problems yet.

what type of detergent did you use? did you pressure wash thru the filler cap hole?
Steve, the pressure washer was used through the filler cap. I was trying to stand on the mudguard and see into the tank when Flat Head Ted (Ted Spain) of Ford brake floaters fame arrived at my workshop.

He is smaller and more agile than me and he knelt on the mudguard and peered into the tank and water blasted all around the bits he could get to. The detergent was a low foam industrial alkaline cleaner that I manufacture in my business. With too much foam you may not be able to see what you are doing.
I used the Meths to absorb the water quickly to prevent more rust from forming.
