Gas pedal/accelerator linkage

Hey gents, so I bought a screw on gas pedal B36902EE-4D18-4790-9261-7A30B67940AD.jpg

D780C8DD-0E85-4045-BC77-2C4060AF3BED.jpg as my car was missing one. Turns out upon closer inspection that have a flange or knob at the end of my linkage where the pedal is supposed to go.
Did the model A ever have this? Or is it from a different model??? Any ideas on what to do? Grind it off and cut threads into it? The actual linkage bolts right in and works great.

it looks like either the original threaded part was sawed off or it was modified for a fulton pedal. it's a model a linkage, and it needs to be corrected. you can weld on a bolt of the right thread size and fix that no problem.

I have never seen one quite like that. A lot of parts from that era were used on a bunch of brands. Are we sure this is exactly a Model-A part?

Not 100 percent sure it’s a model A part. It bolts right on to the block just above the bell housing as it should. As mentioned the linkage works great.
Anyway, I just finished grinding it down and cutting threads in it. Took 10 minutes and pedal screws on tight.
Thanks for your input guys!

It is a Model A part, just missing the threads.

I'm trying to mount a Fulton Accelerator Pedal on my '31 A. From what I can see it can go on a couple of ways. The biggest puzzle is how the flange that is screwed on to the floor board. Any one know how it supposed to fit? Photos on web sites are inconsistent and sketchy. Secondly, do I leave the original foot pad on or just have the throttle rod tip meet the new pedal? It looks like the contact point would have a lot of wear without some form of buffering.

WCMill, There were aftermarket foot pedals made for the Model A. It may be that someone sawed off the threads to enable a foot pedal to work properly. As Bob C pointed out in post #5, the knob was there originally and the threads protruded from it.
