Gas line to carb.?

The gas line connections to the carbuator slightly drips gas just before reaching the carb it self. I have tried tightening the fittings and hesitate to tighten any farther.
The threads look ok and do not appear to be stripped. Is there such a thing as gasoline impervious thread tape, is this a good idea and what else might look into?
Thanks

put new ferrals on the line and do not over tighten... also do not put the gas line too far into the carb as this will cut off the amount of fuel into carb....

I've successfully used Teflon tape in the past, even though those aren't pipe threads and it shouldn't work. Also, I have seen many warnings not to use it since a small flake of it can really plug things up. It gets almost transparent and impossible to see when it's soaked in gasoline.

I agree with those saying, first, try a new ferrule.

The threads do not seal the gas, the ferral is what seals the gas. as mentioned above. replace the ferral and if it still leaks put a small amount of Teflon tape or permatex on the ferral.
WRONG,WRONG,WRONG. DO NOT PUT TEFLON TAPE ON GASOLINE FITTINGS.SOME PEOPLE NEVER LISTEN. ken ct.

I just bought a new line from Snyders.....I think it was $5.74

Good idea and a whole lot less problems than trying to repair the old one. With the price of gas now days, you can make up the price in a short time if you stop a leak.

I don't care for the new gas lines where the ferrule and nut are one piece and you have to really tighten the nut to break the ferrule loose and make it crimp the line. Seems a lot of guys don't tighten the nut enough to get the job done, and I was surprised at how tight you must make it to get the job done. If it still leaks then I'd tin the furrule with 60/40 rosin core solder rather than try any tape.

I break them off before I install them. And I don't buy this kind anyway,I purchase separate pcs. Work much better. ken ct.
