Further on the Judging Standards

In another thread, I asked a question regarding what appears to be a discrepancy in the JS. Turns out that I have the 1997 version and it was suggested that I get the most recent version.

I went to the MAFCA website and found that the JS are listed there (in the MAFCA Store) as well as "Revision 3 Model A Restoration Guidelines & Judging Standards".

In the listing for the actual JS, it says: "Revision 3 will now be included with each order".

Question: If I already have the 1997 version, do I need JUST the Revision 3 document, or do I need to also buy another copy of the JS?

(I sent an e-mail to the JS contact asking this question but have not received an answer.)

I just got the revisions. If you already have the 1997 version you just replace the areas that have been revised with the 2011 section. Rather then throw the old area away I put it in the back of the book as a reference.

I believe they include the revisions with the set for those who are buying the JS's for the first time or if someone wants one without a lot of greasy finger marks like on the garage library copy.

Not all of the areas were revised in the 2011 Revisions printing. That is why they will send you both.

That is another question unto itself....why

Look at the bottoms of the pages near the page number or lower, outer corner in the various sections you have. There should be a combination of 1994 sections and 1997 sections in your set. If this is the case then all you need is the 2011 revisions to be up to date.

Call either national office or any of the vendors if you are unsure.

I Ordered just the revisions and I believe it is 100% up to date.
