Fuelline nuts

Hello
So I am planning to change my carburator on my 1937 Ford v860, and to do this I need to first remove the fuelline. But what has happened to the nut that connects the fuel line to the carburetor? No wrench will fit on that? The fuel pump side is no problem , it is a 1/2inch nut on that side.
Best regards
Knut Haakon

Looks like someone has used a Vice-Grips on that the last couple of times. The fittings used on those is a specialized compression fitting called a "Ford Nut". They are available from the usual suppliers.

That one should be 1/2" hex, like the other one. It's rounded off. (Unless you already knew that and just wanted to show how bad it is)

I think Ford used the same nuts on the Tractor carburetors of the 50's - 60's. 8n NAA, 600, 800 etc. appear the same. Check your local TSC or whatever you have locally.

Be sure to use a “line” wrench on those nuts. They are wider and grab more of the shoulders of the nut to avoid damaging the nut. A line wrench may even work on that damaged nut if you can get one on it.
