Fuel tank rust hole

Is there a "best way" to seal a tiny rust hole in a Model A fuel tank ....
without a flame? Fortunately, this one is in the outside corner just above the cowl panel.

Buddy, I haven't tried it myself, but a lot of the guys use JB Weld. Of course drain the tank at least below the leak. Make sense to me.

If you can get to it and get the area around the hole really clean and bright, you can use a BIG electric soldering iron and solder it closed. or even solder a small piece of brass over the hole. however, this takes a BIG soldering iron. You may also want to put a small dimple where the hole is to form a small depression to have a place for the solder.

I was fortunate to find a really BIG electric soldering iron at a garage sale many years ago. I only use it every year or so but it really comes in handy when needed.

You can also use a soldering iron like the ones used to solder roof flashings etc. that use an external heat source. Just be careful to have the heat source (flame) way far away from the tank if it still has fuel or fuel residue in it.

You may also be able to use epoxy materials but I would prefer to solder it as it is my opinion that this would be a more perminate repair.

That is what I would do.
