old problem....opened garage, smelled gas. carb on model a is wet. float leaks a little. 3/4 full fuel tank. llots of fuel pressure. i usually remove fuel line at carb and swing up... this prevented leaks so far, but now fuel tank is fuller... want to put plug in filter outlet.....my trusty box of fuel line brass dont have a plug that size...what size is it .. thanks all for response....kev:o

Why not overhaul or replace your fuel tank shut off tap & put a new needle ball valve under the carb. float.

Fix it before a fire erases your option, it is a cheap fix anyway. Add an accessory filter before the shut-off also.

fixing is going to take time....ive got plenty to do right now.....just wanted to put plug in it to block any leakage...found edelman...#120500 fits good and screws right up flush with filter housing tightly.... insurance so later.....when i get to it ,can fix properly.....stuffs sitting on bench waiting for me....thanks for the info..kev

after all the problems leaking out the fuel filter housing, just put in a new inlet needle valve on the carb , and put new seals in the shutoff valve...no leakage so far...trhanks guys on fordbarn ....no lazy way out sometimes...kev
