Fuel inlet thread chaser for a B carb

I have a B carb I would like to rebuild for a spare. The carb is rusty but is complete and both shafts move fine after a little penetrating oil. Everything came apart easily except it had a steel fitting in the fuel inlet that refused to be removed, I heated it tapped on it, vice gripped it, and whatever I could think of to remove it. It finally broke off. I tried an easy out. I finally drilled it one step at a time until I got almost to the threads. I then used a tiny die grinder on the sides to sneak up to the threads, Then a small round chisel and an ice pick to peal out the fitting threads that were left. I think the threads in the carb top look OK and should hold. I probably spent 2 hours or more getting the fitting remains out trying to save the carb top.

Does any of the vendors sell a thread chaser to clean out the threads, or what size would it be? I could not find any in the catalogs or online. Does anyone know where one may be available? I was thinking I could find a steel fitting of the correct size and grind slots in the thread to act as a thread chaser if all else fails.

I see Snyders has for sale a FUEL LINE SEAT GRINDER Part # A-9597 to clean and true up the seat. I may order one the next order I place.

Thanks for any help.

I believe the threads on the inlet are ½”-20. I would double check that tho.

You could use a ½”-20 bolt to make a thread chaser.
