fuel flow problem?

When ever you open the fuel lines in the car, I alway loosen up the sediment bowl, turn gas on a watch the fuel rise in the bowl then just as it starts to over flow tighten up the bowl and you are good to go. make sure you have rags near by.
After the fuel is fixed, and if the car still back fires try a new condendser.

I think it's a fuel flow problem due to sediment in the gas tank. I'm having the carb. checked because it looks like trash may have gone into it and am going to clean the gas tank as best as possible as well as the tank filter. I may give the magnet idea a try. Could help avoid future problems. Thanks for all the good suggestions.

When the temp was over 80*, if I used any gas with ethanol, my 28 would boil the fuel and cough and sputter at every red light or if I was stopped for several minutes. When I'd leave the red light I had to drive just as Jerry suggests above. Since I started using gas with no ethanol I've had no such problems.

You may want to think about taking filler screen out and taking a magnet on
a rod and going into dry tank and see what you can pull out .

The other thing you may want to try and going also through gas filler opening and put on a rod masking tape turned inside out and dapping it into bottom
of dry tank and see what you can pull out this way..Joe

I know this is an old post, but new problem maybe ? Is the new green gas a factor maybe ? I do not know what happened ? All a sudden I started getting brown gas out of fuel cockpit on firewall ,and(see threw filter) empty's and engine dies , if I disconnect fuel line off top of filter , a few seconds later fuel will start to flow and refill filter and run for a time . It seems like vapor lock, but really doubt it is . Could new type fuel be wrong for this car and maybe gelling up or something ? I seen the 80degree post about ethanol, I got last fuel at 7/11 and trouble started shortly after .did not know I was getting ethanol if I did ? please help with experiences of your own maybe ? thank you all

All we have in California is ethanol gas…..cannot buy any other. And there are lots and lots of Model A’s running around, even in hot weather, with no issues other than a bit lower gas mileage. I am not a fan of ethanol, but I also feel it is blamed for several issues that don’t happen to us here, so I highly discount them.

Try some top tier gas (https://www.toptiergas.com/station-finder/) instead of 7/11 gas to see if it runs better. Regular should work fine. Premium is not needed in a Model A.

Our Walmart has a Murphy USA station in its parking lot, and I buy ethanol-free gas there. Whenever I cannot find ethanol-free gas, I try to use top tier (Mobil, Shell, Exxon, BP, etc.) gas.

Ethanol gas tends to be more problematic the longer it sits in the tank. If you drive your car regularly, ethanol may work fine for you. If your car sits for long periods of time, you may get gel problems. I used to have a lawn mower that would gel up every season if I didn’t run the tank dry.
