fuel bowls

Hi guys, Im looking for the glass fuel sediment bowls that would
be separate from the mechanical pump.....any ideas where I might
them?

Thanks - Joe

There are some on E-bay, but it appears that they have gotten popular and therefore kinda pricey. I just bought one and I am waiting on it. I wanted one with the ceramic filter but I saw some that used paper filters.

Hi Joe,
I might have what you need. I have an NOS Tillotson glass sediment bowl with top inlet (through the center of the top), side outlet, and the other side has a T-handle shut off. There is no filter element inside the bowl but I think you could substitute a modern filter taken out of a plastic case (a Wix, a Fram, NAPA, etc.). It is in nearly perfect condition only having a bit of rust on the threads of the metal bale at the bottom (easily cleaned with a wire brush).

I also have an NOS Carter glass sediment bowl with a pristine white ceramic style filter element inside. The condition is excellent, a bit of minor rust on the bale, the red paint is a bit shop worn, but it still has its wax paper seals in the inlet and outlet. Based on the original box, I'd say it was made in the early 1950's. $20 for either of the NOS ones plus shipping.

I also have a few used ones that could be restored including a couple of Carter's and a few AC's. Those would be $10 each plus shipping. You could e-mail me at jen.toby@yahoo.com or call me 802-869-2688. Thanks, Toby

The fittings on the remote glass bowls I have seen do not use the Ford fuel fittings you will need adaptors. There's nothing wrong with a paper filter, just make sure you get a good "live" cork gasket not some old rock hard thing. G.M.

Joe the only reason for a remote glass bowl would be to get the bowl up away from the intake manifold heat over a pump with the glass bowl mounted on it. If mounting a bowl type later pump on an early engine you can orient the top of the pump to where you want the flex hose. When mounting a remote bowl or filter keep it away from anything that will heat it up. As the fuel temp in the pump increases the fuel pressure drops. G.M.

I expect this one is smaller than what you want.

I was thinking of using an electric pump and thought the remote sediment bowl would
still be a good thing to have?
