Fuel adjustment needle installation - what order?

I'm having to replace the fuel adjustment needle and the adjusting needle housing. The instructions say to put the needle into the housing and push it in until the threads catch and then screw the needle in. My question is this - should this be done outside of the carburetor, and then install the combined pieces into the body, or should I thread in the housing, and then push the needle in and thread it in?

I know the needle is rather sensitive so I don't want to screw this up.

Thanks!!

You can do this either way. If you're particularly worried about possibly damaging the needle, screw the housing into the carb first. Or, if you choose to start the needle into the housing first, only screw it into the housing a couple of threads before installing the combined assembly into the carb.
