B BC Texas Senior Member Oct 2, 2018 #1 What degrees do you see the timing on an FSI electronic ignition?
O old31 Well-known member Oct 3, 2018 #2 The electronic does not change the way it is timed. So, it gets timed the same way with the pin, or light or nurex wrench for TDC

AL in NY Well-known member Oct 3, 2018 #3 I time my truck with a timing light at 2 1/2 degrees BTC. The distributor is limited to 20 degrees of total advance because of my Brumfield 5.9 head.

O old31 Well-known member Oct 4, 2018 #5 Bc, do you have a standard 4.2 head or a HC head? What AL and 1929 are saying is correct for a HC head. If you have a standard head as the pin goes in you want TDC and the rotor pointing to #1. As in the photo. Attachments timing rotor position.jpg 66.7 KB · Views: 28
