Frozen hood pull cables

What is the best way to unstick these? I have two '59 Edsels and this cable is a one-year-only part & is not reproduced. Regular Ford hoods opened from the rear but Edsels opened from the front.

Anyone try maybe putting them in a bucket of kerosene and see if that would work?

its best to use a 50-50 mix of acetone and auto trans fluid, soak for at least 3 days, then you can do as I did, laid the cable on a wood work book bench, take a plastic hammer and tap on the out side of cable gently, you don't want to bend the outside, just cause it to flex a little to break lose the rust inside the cable, tap all around the cable and try to get the inside cable to move, be paient, soak and tap as long as it takes to free the cable

Acetone will evaporate so fast that it won't stay in the mix very long.

I always use PB Blaster, you can get a spray can at Menards or Walmart.
It penetrates rust fast and stays wet longer than most rust penetrants.

I used 3in1 machine oil and a turbo torch flexing the outer cable and squirting with oil hung handle end up torched the entire length slowly re-oiled it flexed it torched it re-oiled it hung it handle end down oiled the inside by squirting oil between inner and outer cable let it hang until the next evening torched it re-oiled it turned handle side up put tension on bare end with small vise grips as I was applying heat and it started moving a little bit then repeated process this was a 2 day fix for me .
