Front Spring

On the front spring, which leaf (counted from the bottom) does the spring clip usually go onto?
I am asking because the spring that was on my car has the clips on the sixth from the bottom, but I was under the impression the clips were on the fifth. I am curious about whether or not it is really a Model A spring.

The front spring should have a hole in one leaf where the dimple of the clip goes. I just bought a new spring from Little Dearborn, but it is in the garage and I can remember which leaf has the hole in it, probably the 5th like Calahan mentioned. I cab check later and post another reply.

The hole for the spring clip should be in the fth leaf from the bottom as shown in the ford drawing in Bratton's catalog. However the new spring sold by Mac's has the hole in the fifth leaf from the top, which is wrong.
