Front spring help

I've got a '42 Ford front axle, wanted to add a spring with adjustable
perches.(swivel type as used on earlier front suspensions)
I'm fabricating radious rods as well as just about everything else on this chassis.
All of this is new to me... I'm an old VW man trying to get into something new.
Can anyone help me determine the correct way to find a spring, or if I am even able to set this up ?
Right now, I'm pretty clueless... looks nothing like a V-Dub.
Thanks a heap for the help!

I guess you want to use the spring above the axle instead of on the ends of the wishbone ahead of the axle? That will require a special length spring. Adjustable spring perches are sold but they are for the 1 3/4" wide springs. I have just bent the peches to get the spring out of a bind. Your best doner spring might be a 40 front as they are 2" narrower than the 42. You will need a custom main leaf.

Also consider that because of the wider measurement between the perches the radius rods may, and I stress the word may, interfere with the tires when turned to full lock. It all depends on many factors; a T-bucket or similar narrow frame, where you mount the radius rods and their length, the tire size, etc. Mock up as much as you can and look at this project from all angles.
