when reinstalling a front spring center bolt, with spring assembly out
of car, how much should the center bolt be tightened?

?

There is no torque spec for this so just tighten it with a 9/16" open wrench as tight as you can get it with one hand. Just make sure all of the leaves are compressed together - no gaps. I also cut off the excess bolt and pein the end so that the nut can't work it's way off - not a lot of peining necessary.

Hold the springs with a c-clamp. Tighten the nut snug.
