Front Spindles

I have a early 28. I know that the original spindles are round. My question is will the later spindles work in place of the early ones? It seems like the backing plate for the drum brakes wont set flush against the later style spindle. Any insight and other issues I may encounter is greatly appreciated!

Hello John--You will have to find E28 round spindles paired with E28 backing plates or use the later spindles with later backing plates. Hope to see you one of these days, neighbor!
