Front/Rear pan seals

I'm "freshening" the engine in my '46. After replacing rod bearings and rings, I'm almost ready to put the pan back up. Gonna install a new oil pump too. Here's the question:

My felpro gasket set came with a larger diameter (short) oil seal which I assume is for the front. Also has two longer, smaller diameter seals which I assume are for the rear, but in order to be long enough they'd need to be placed end to end. The seal I removed (which frankly looks reuseable with a smear of RTV silicone) is a one piece seal. I have used the search function but haven't seen anything regarding the two piece rear seal.

Thanks! The oil pump is coming from California so I have a few days...

Perhaps the pan gasket set you have is for the 49-53 style, the 2 thinner strips are the rear main seal, the 49-53 had that in the pan,and block, the earlier engines had the rear main seal in the bearing cap and block insert.
What you are looking for is a strip of cork in most gasket sets (might be rubber now).

I think that's correct. The old rear seal looks like a formed piece and there is a slot in the main cap for it. I either have to find that piece or re-use the old one.

You are working on a '46 vehicle but which engine do you actually have? 59a, earlier 239/221 CI, or maybe an 8ba? It's always good to have all the info necessary to provide good answers.
