Front fender to shock clearance issue

Pinesdune: is only the early fender (AR) that is affected? Or both sides?
Curious as both fenders were affected on my Father-in-laws. They are both early fenders. Jeff

I don't think I have a picture, but when you stand out in front of the car you should be able to see the center of the front axle, and the shackles should be slanted inward more.

Just the AR fender, the 29 fender shows no marks

No doubt the spring is done.

For shocks, look up in the Service Bulletins for the test. 6 lbs on an arm should take a certain amount of time. My limited test with shocks I was told should be good (long story) showed what many consider good is likely not what they should be. That is the test is like (I am from memory and could be really wrong on actual value) 15 seconds to travel a certain amount of degrees. What would be considered a very good shock by many guys took like 5 seconds to travel the full range.

So I figure, they should be very very stiff if you are trying to move them with the regular shock arm. Also they should seem less going up.

Now I will add. A long time a ago I did some shocks for my fordor and they were great based on what I was told, but likely so so good acording to the Ford test. Those shocks made the car comfortable to drive at 55 so as long as they are fairly stiff they are doing something. I am just pointing out that what you might think is good may not be what it was like when new.
