Front disc Brakes

Bought a 22 speedster/racer . Rear tires stop when brake are depressed but car so light that it slides. (panic stop condition)
Any ideas on FRONT disc brakes?
I am sure that a bright "T" person has already done this!
REAR disc braks would not be of interest to me.
Thank you for your information in advance!!
I want a safe "Speedy T" for ME!
Steve

For safety sake, you should split the wishbone to handle the added stress from the force of front brakes. Then its just a matter of finding some mini car or motorcycle brakes and adapting them.

The T front end is not really suitable for disk or drum brakes. Like Doug said at the very least you would need to split the wishbone. Also you may consider not driving to fast. JMHO

If your looking for modern performance with a Model T speedster look why don't you buy a newly manufactured chassis and mate your body to it? A lot safer

Look on the MTFCA site. There is a gentleman named Les from Canada who has designed hydraulic brakes to include new spindles and a recommendation on stabilizing the axle for the increased torque. Use the search feature. He is perfecting his design and is contemplating the sale of this kit.

What would splitting the front wishbone have to do with the added stress? No more likely to roll up split or un split, wouldn't be any stronger, I don't think the rear mounting point would be the week point anyway, IMO Dave

Dave, the ball on the bottom of the pan is the only thing supporting the wishbone. It is easily bent or broken. Splitting the wishbone has been done for decades. The wishbone gets moved to the bottom of the axle and split to the frame rails.

I thought the right thing to do was double (upper and lower) the radius rods?
Is that no longer considered good?
