You're making my brain hurt trying to remember the details..:<)...the picture of the booster is what I ended up hooking to the stock linkage under the dash. I do not recall the actual fastener I used to connect the push rod to the pedal linkage. Nope, stayed with the drum/drum. The brakes were Mercury/Lincoln, 5 X 5 and self adjusting. The main issue with later boosters is the mounting bracket/spacing as best I can figure.
I say "electronic engineer" because of the training uncle sugar gave me. I was an electronic technician, trained in component level repair of radar, communication and computer systems. An advance course of electronic theory and design was offered to those of us (ETs) for a six year re-enlistment. The course was 52 weeks long, theory was taught 8 hours, five days a week with some night classes as well. It started with 1 + 1 = 2 all the way threw to calculus expansion. After that the theory part involved who, what and where components did to current flow, electromagnetic wave flow, propagation of RF energy and then finally circuit design. Very exhausting course! Gone now due to the digital age. Component level repair is mostly dead as well, most all repairs are module replacement with depot level module repair. Started as an E-1 and retired nearly 30 years later as a CWO-4 Electech.
