Front brake / wheel locked up

Driving down the road, made a mild right, touched the brake and the right front wheel locked solid. Won't go forward, goes fine in reverse, so I backed up the 200 yards to my home driveway. Now to pull the wheel and drum and see what's up! Does have the equalizers on the front...not Teds, I think from Snyders., but I think a lining came loose and wedged the drum. Can't go forward...only in reverse. Thank goodness I was close to home.

I think you may have it! Took drum off, everything was fine....but upon taking the drum off, I noticed the stub / bearing nut seemed a bit too slack. Shoes were in great shape and the backing plate was tight.

Thanks to all.

Dog:cool: here,
Thet's why Ol' Bill's always HARPIN' about pre-load on the front wheel bearings. Should have a minimum of 5 FT LBS, 10 FT LBS is even better. (That's not much & WON'T smoke the bearings!)
