Between the perch bolt and the king pin is a bolt going through the axle.
Not sure what this would be for ? Maybe a shock absorber ?

There is a tapered pin with a special acorn not in that area you describe. The tapered pin locks the kingpin in place and the acorn nut provides a stop when the back of the spindle comes against it. Pictures are worth....well you know what I mean. Try adding a thumbnail pic from your computer files. We can enlarge this if necessary.
Okay will check your profile page now. Did not see that at first glance.
After reviewing the play on tape...the original call has been overturned...the pin I see is for connecting the lower end of a tubular shock. The pin and nut I mentioned originally has already been removed in your pic.
