Front (angled) floorboard won't come out...

I'm removing the floorboards for the first time. Not rocket science...but the front angled board feels like it is glued in place. I have all the screws out...the bottom board came out easily. Am I missing something?

There might be strips of felt/tar paper between floorboard and sheetmetal to cut down on squeaks, and over time the tar has stuck. I put roofing felt strips in that same place to reduce squeaks and it helps

LOL. I did! Several times, from both sides. Then I decided to ask...and then went back out to mess with it some more. I am usually the proverbial bull in a china shop...but for once, I stopped and thought about it.

I got out my inspection mirror and gave everything a hard look. No hidden fasteners, no signs of epoxy...

I got out a small pry-bar and started prying around the edges. The passenger side rear corner eventually raised up a 1/4"...and then a good yank and it popped loose.

Somebody did damn tight felting job! It will take a little massaging with my dead-blow to get it back in.

Thanks y'all!

Dress the floorboard or the felts so that the they just slip in and can be removed easily enough. You will want to take them out again at some point in the future.

In todays automotive world their is a product which I believed was developed during the early days of the space program and is called RTV (room temperature vulcanized) silicone. This is a silocone base elastomer which is commonly used as a sealant or an adhesive. Some people love to use it everywhere even more than JB weld. My guess is someone put a niece bead of RTV along the edge of your floorboard that is in contact the floor frame. As a starter, I would run a knife between the wood and the frame. This should help to loosen the floorboard if this is what is holding it.
