From Wayne McMichael to Steve Plucker...

I reckon you have a great surname Steve.

Recently I needed a chassis number for rego purposes, so I "plucked" a number from your data base.

I figured the odds of someone else already having that chassis number in my neck of the woods was about 0.001 %.

We all thank you for your historic data base being saved for future generations.

Wanker Wayne is a good nick for this dude.

If he whinges and whines about king pins, tell him to go read the multi page thread on split pins..(cotter pins to youse) a while back.

I quite liked that thread about how originally the pins were not painted, just raw to rust quite quickly , so guys used stainless steel pins.

Then they sandblasted them to look like natural steel, then cut each tang off to the correct length and bent them over to the exact same shape as was done on the assembly line.

I wonder if Wanker Wayne would be in interested in reading that.

Yes Steve, This is a little disturbing for Wayne to be making these comments about you or any of us to try and help us in this Hobby, no matter if it's about a certain part or topic or how to restore something on this Hobby. There are different ways to reach our knowledge about this Hobby, either threw Clubs ,( National ,Local ) or Friends or This Forum. Lets not let a few hear Damage our Drive to find out has much has we can on this amazing Vehicle for Now and for Future Generations . (Robin Williams had promoted a product at one of his performances,so maybe Wayne should take some.) I just hope I don't get Banded from the Fordbarn now. Please keep it Light ,Life is too short has it is.

Hey Mitch,
Thanks for the info/heads up:) !

Steve....For your information, there IS a 'block' the fool button that Ryan ,in his wisdom/experience has provided us. Advice ...use it and keep on doing all the great work / help that you provide to the appreciative.

As soon as I seen the name Wayne, I new it was really c26pinelake. What a Richard. That just sounds better than Dick. :D Another reason why people stopped posting on here so much. Glad he got the boot.

Steve- I am afraid you took Mr. Wayne McMichael's private comment too much to heart. I think he sent a private email to avoid any unnecessary 'ruckus' on the Forum and to keep his criticism of you private, and not make a public deal out of it. It might be better to handle 'dirty laundry' in private and not make it public.

That being said, I think "HickTick" said it best : "When I am at the salad bar I don't put cottage cheese on mine."

I find that a very useful tool of the Ford Barn Forum is the cursor (arrow) that you sit on top on the post, thereby opening up a brief description of what the subject is, if the lead headline does not tell you enough. Much like a newspaper, one must 'skim' the headlines to find what is on interest and what is not of interest. One stops at the items of interest and skips over the items of no interest. What is of interest to one person may not be of interest to another. But we would all be poorer if did not get the opportunity to chose from a full plethora of information.

As Wayne McMichael reads the above responses from other posters, I think he too will better appreciate that while I (and he) may not be terribly interested in when the "widget" coating changed from shiny black to semi-shiny black, there are enough Forum readers to provide at least a small audience that DO appreciate that you took the time to not only research, but to SHARE your new-found information.

It was because of earlier Posters that I discovered the the 'widget' in question was only used between June 3rd 1928 and June 4th 1928 - so because of a previous post, I now know that I need not concern myself with whether or not the 'widget' was shiny black or semi-shiny black (as my car does not even have a 'widget').

Like others on this forum, I too wish to thank you for all your effort on behalf of our beloved mistress - the Model A Ford.

P.S. - Until Steve Plucker came along, I thought 'King Pins" were gangster's in Chicago, et.al - Al Capone, Bugsy Siegal, Moe Green, Don Corleone !

I love the things you come up with - and I'm jealous that you have the 'time' or 'ambition' to dig into these things.
I learn something from EVERY post you make.
It's a shame that we have a few small minded haters out there

I can add nothing to this post that has not been said. I too, read every post off Pluck's, because it didn't take me long to realize that he has a wealth of information to share. I have been on this forum for quite a few years and never felt compelled to knock someone for sharing their thoughts. Even Mr. McMichael has a right to his opinion although I detect a hint of jealousy in his private comment to Pluck. I would say to all that there is much information out there to be shared, unless you know it all and then it is not even necessary to read the information shared on this site. Don/WI

Please don't confuse him with me.

Pluck, thanks for all your research, even when it is beyond my comprehension.

W. Michael
