french flathead parts

I ran across a set of new rods on EBay from the guys who bought all the french flathead stock. I know the blocks are the hot ticket, but what about the internals? From what I've been told, stock US rods are just about indestructable. This comes from Charlie Overfelt, an old friend, who runs stock rods and crank in his 9 sec. 1/4 mile fuel roadster. He says he's bent rods but never broken one. These rods will be going in a 270 inch street motor.

I can't speak for the strength of the French made rods but I did like the idea they had for the shorter con rods for the 4 inch crankshaft. With those you don't have to buy the Mercury pistons and the Ford piston sets that they are made to work with are less expensive.
