Thank you for posting, wonder if this Club Cabriolet was an inspiration for Ford USA for the 36 Club?

I wonder how many pairs of hands it takes to lower/raise the top on that cabriolet? I'm not sure that two pairs would be enough.:)

I often wonder about the Europeans and Convertibles tops and just how well things were thought out as you have pointed out in your post. Our German tops are about as unwieldy as they get....with all of the padding and a headliner, when a German top is installed properly, in the down position, it looks like a wing from a Top Fuel NHRA dragster......they were SO heavy and bulky to deal with I know that one of the German Cabriolets has a metal tube and a heavy spring running between two of the rearward bows to assist in lowering the top. ALSO when you look at original photos, you will notice that most of the German Cabriolets have a leather strap running down the center of the top front to back (Pictures 1 & 2) which I believe was there to not only aide in lowering the top BUT to also use as a strap to pull it down tighter when lowered to help keep it from sticking up SO high.
