Freeing stuck guides.

Has any one got any tricks for pulling guides?example-heat miricle spray etc.This is on a running moter I want change the cam in...I broke the bottom off one and want to save the rest without damage.

What year engine? Split ot solid guides?

It's a C69A but with late style guides.(Factory Ford rebuilt)Runs really nice,half move really easy.

Lift the valve spring retainer enough to remove the keepers. Generally the valve will lift also. Give it a tap and the keepers usually fall out. Then you can pull the valve out and knock the guide down to remove the horseshoe clip and pry the guide assembly out.

Sounds like a plan.I imagine I could put the broken back in the same way I guess.It's only missing the very bottom under grove.They are the tightest set I've ever taken out.After I make sure it is burr free of course.

I think you will find it easier to just replace that guide.
