Free iPhone App for Model A Drivers

I wanted to let everyone know about a free iPhone app I’ve been working on called A-Speed.

The idea came from driving my own Model A and finding myself asking questions while on the road:

* What RPM am I actually turning at this speed?
* How fast am I really going according to GPS?
* What’s my fuel mileage on this tour?
* How many miles have I driven today?
* Where’s the nearest gas station?

One question led to another, and eventually I started building tools to answer them. Every feature currently in the app started as something I personally wanted while driving a Model A.

A-Speed includes:

* GPS Speedometer
* Calculated RPM based on your tire size and rear-end ratio
* Trip Odometer
* Fuel Mileage Tracker
* Driving Statistics
* Gas Station Finder
* Model A-specific setup options

The app is completely free.

There are no subscriptions, no advertisements, no login accounts, no social media integration, and no personal data collection. I built it for myself and decided to share it with the Model A community.

It’s available now on the Apple App Store, a direct link is available at:

https://www.a-speed.com

I’d appreciate any feedback, suggestions, or ideas for future features as i’d like to keep improving it based on real-world use.

I do not have solid plans for an Android version at this point, but will figure out how to do it if there is enough demand. (and I find a test device)

I figured you for a 'droid guy :) After multi-car support (because we all know Model As have a habit of multiplying), Android support has been a top request. Looking into it.

Hello and thanks for your work
Just checked your link and also the Apple App Shop.
At least in Switzerland you can't find your app in the Apple Shop, saying the app is not availaible in your region or country.
Do you have to change something so it can be also in other countries shop worldwide? If so, thanks for your effort.

Let me see what's involved with getting it approved for Switzerland. Stay tuned!

NO! Actually, I am an iphone guy!! Fact- My whole YouTube channel is just an iphone and a tripod. Seriously, I have no clue at all how to operate one of those other kind. My comment was just an attempt at technologically inept humor. I apparently failed at that also. I'm constantly having to ask my wife for "tech support"!!

Thank you for developing this. Should be helpful!!

Hey Ruth, I’m assuming you are indoors when you’re getting this message. You need a semi-clear view of the sky in order to lick on to GPS. The GPS is used to judge your speed and distance.

If you’re outdoors, this can pop up when starting in an area with an overhang or canopy of trees.

Buying a new Apple phone next week to replace my one year old Galaxy...which I have desperately tried not o hate...and will download and test. I am assuming that the gas station finder will not work in Germany....or did you use a global system?

Great contribution to the A community!!!
