Fourth of July Parade Plans

Just wondering how many A's here in the states will be in parades this weekend. Here in Oklahoma City I have two on the schedule. One in the morning and another later in the day. My grandkids love the ride and their chance participate in a parade.

Happy 4th to all my fellow Americans!

Well the clouds held back until the parade was over but started raining just after. My wiper got more use today than its had for 40 years. Thank goodness for RainX. Hope everyone has a good 4th.

We'll be in the State Fair parade that precedes the opening of the fair here in Minot, North Dakota. Hopefully it won't be 100 degrees!

Since our local parade has no category for 'rolling chassis', we(son and self) will ride in a member's rumble. Daughter(pictured) currently nursing a broken leg.

My Town Sedan with four grandchildren will be in the Springerville, AZ parade. The girls are perfecting their Miss America wrist wave. Hoping we are not placed behind the Bobby and the Buckers band or the mounted sheriff's posse.

We have a local parade that I lead in the Model A been doing it for 10 years. I drove 410 miles on July 4th in my Model A to make it back in time to lead the parade in 2008 on the way home from the Texas national convention.

The "FIRST STATE" checking in here (That's Delaware for you johny-come-lately states out west.) - ....We'll be in one parade Saturday morning and another on Sunday afternoon. And we will be giving "VIP's" a ride. It's fun watching the older ones making fools of themselves trying to get into and out of the rumble seat (my once-a-year revenge on politicians...).

But we always have a great time. The VIP's have always been friendly, polite and respectful. And they always love the extra attention they get from the "constituants" at the curb as we roll by.

The Roadster is all decked out in her patriotic finest - bows, bunting and flags - and she can't wait.

Supposed to be 96 degrees on Sunday here. Oh well, I'll still be doing my patriotic duty. - and giving the cooling system a good workout in the 96 deg. heat at 3 MPH for a 1/2 mile. Never overheated yet in 8 years.

But giving the public an "historic thrill" is what we signed up for as good "antique car citizens", right!?

Bailey's Harbor Parade here in Wisconsin. A slight problem...we have about 42 or so really nice running 'A's in the club. The [female dog] who runs the show will allow only 10 'A's in the line up.

A big morning donut fest in the a.m. before we form up. Then a huge drunk, weenie, and burger cook out at the beach on Lake Michigan.

skip.

No parade here, but I'll be having a one car parade all over town this weekend as I show the colors.

We'll have the "Little Car" in the Cornwall, NY parade on Sunday. Grandson and friend will be tossing patriotic candies to folks as the better half and I lean on the aoogah and the wolf whistle. Happy 4th to all!!

For many years the Fox Valley Region, MARC has paraded on July 4th in the little town of Newark, IL. This parade is a small midwest town classic where the kids decorate their bikes and wagons and the farmers drive their tractors down the parade route. We will have 8-10 Model As all decked out in their red, white and blue finery. The parade ends with a great pork chop and chicken meal served in the fire barn with lots of home made pies baked by the local ladies. All in all it will be a grand day.

I will be doing the 4th of july parade in my home town of sunland with my roadster all dressed up with Giant bottle rockets and fire crackers and lots of flags and red white and blue. it ends up looking like a float.

I was in two parades today; one at 11 AM, where I was the only "old car" and another at 4 PM where I had two young passengers (with parents permission, of course). They had a great time waving at their friends and playing with the wolf whistle. They also learned about a Model A and what the various levers and knobs do. It was a good day!

Why would you not want as many participants as possible in a small town parade? That dog needs to be replaced with a rational sane person......

Agree with MBI! The more Model As the better - she's weird. We did the Cornwall NY parade today in mid-90s temps at about 1/2 mph for ~2 miles. No Water Wetter, just tap water and antifreeze, 2-blade fan, spark up. Upper tank at 170F, lower at 148 after hot soak following parade. Of course, the car handled the heat WAY better than I did!!
