Found intake Info

I've been told by one of, if not the best, flathead builders/racers from CT that a flathead is one of the motors that CFM can be misleading. His research and actual usage has showed that the flathead can take a lot more CFM than an OHV. That is why a 4X2 intake actually works on a flathead. Don't be afraid of going big with CFM.

Don't believe everything you hear. I’m sorry Tim, but your "expert's" statement is bogus beyond belief.

I respect your opinion, but I'm actually in the other camp, Gene. There is so much b*llshit about flatheads that has been passed around over the years it has seemingly become gospel.

I've started listening to those who've tried it, tested it and done it vs. someone just passing info along that they've heard.

As far as the "expert" I'm referring to, he holds records at Bonneville and he has built and run more flatheads than most. He has data to prove what he is talking about. He is someone I absolutely listen to and take notes when he tells me something.

Heck, I was just talking to my friend in CA who is running a Tatterfield 4X2 on his 275 ci motor. He took the truck to tune it on a dyno and the air/fuel ratio was perfect. He did tons of other work to it, but many would say a 4X2 doesn't work and he is proving that it does.

Even the late, great Walt Dupont put a 4X2 intake on his motor and couldn't believe the throttle response he got from the switch.

I would suggest to others on here to take what you read as flathead gospel and try it or test yourself. I think you'd be surprised on what is true vs. what is not.
