Found damage to block and head

When I listed all I had to to to get my block repaired it was due to the machine shop being able to to place the block square in the machine so the old helicoil could be removed and new hole drilled and threaded for the Helicoil repair. Whoever drilled out and installed the old helicoil did it by hand and was not able to keep everything centered. Having the block on a machine table meant everything was square

I fixed a heavily corroded Volvo head that had blown the head gasket with JB Weld. When the car was rear ended and totaled 10,000+ miles later it was still running fine.
I even resurfaced it with a file - thanks dad for teaching me that skill.

My auto shop teacher in high school had me deck a Chevy 6-cylinder 236 block with a file (1962). I think he was just trying to give me some busy work to keep him out of his hair. Now I think the file leaves too course of a surface.
