found a old mercury today

Outstanding car, and with a Columbia! We have a '47 Ford Convertible and the only thing she lacks is an overdrive. That Merc will make a beautiful cruiser.:)

very nice find and could be a real labor of love....checking the frame underneath is important! Good luck!

you can count on me going over every inch before i buy anything, right now it's so damm cold gonna need to borrow a space heater. no way i'm laying under it until it heats up. where do these frames usually have problems, or the cars for that matter.

My Favorite car.

You know, considering what you can see, you don't need to dig around much. If you really are interested just ask the price or make an offer. With all those little pieces still there it's probably been well taken care of.

Sometimes I'm amazed that someone will buy junk then spend more on the restoration than he would have spent on a good car in the first place.

If it were me I'd just go for it now and sell off stuff to pay for it once it was here. Of course it's 10 am and 60 degrees here in Texas right now. Good luck.

heard about old convertable that my uncle wasn't sure what it was and turned out to be a 48' mercury convertable that has been tucked away for 25+ years in a old airplane hanger. guy has owned it since the 50's when he drove it in high school. throwing around numbers and hoping the right ones come up. car has surface rust and seems to be real solid. enjoy a few pic's!:D
Hope you can make deal. Just bought 47 Ford conv. same blue and surface rust bringing it home in a month. Good luck.
