Forged distributor upper plate.

What was an approximate cut-off/change-over for the forged upper plate on the distributor changing to the stamped steel? The J.S. says the stamped upper plate was late 1928, but how late?

Also, when was the change made from the earlier distributor housing with the squared openings for the upper plate, to the more common later rounded openings?
 
In the front of the JS. it pretty well breaks down, what late means. In this case I beleive Sept.-Dec., but I think this is widely accepted asan October change. Ford used up old supplies so I would not be suprised if some of the old style were used as late as November. I May have overstepped by bounds on intrepretation of the JS. here. Rod
